
Ed Stein
Deputy Assistant Director for Enforcement
Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC)
Ed Stein currently serves as the Deputy Assistant Director for Enforcement at the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC). In this capacity, he helps lead the division at OFAC responsible for investigating and pursuing enforcement actions against entities and individuals that violate U.S. sanctions.
Before joining OFAC, Ed worked as an attorney at the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) where his work focused on FinCEN’s enforcement actions, virtual currency, and corporate transparency. Earlier in his career, Ed was an associate at an international law firm, and clerked on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit and the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.
Ed holds a J.D. from Harvard Law School and a B.A. from Yale University.
